chevre cheese
By Ally Wied
Chevre cheese is a French name for Goat cheese. At first, I have feeling kind of strange about this goat milk product because I haven't tried drinking any goat milk before. It is always be cow milk for me. Chevre cheese in a soft form tastes sharper than cow made cream cheese. Hmm, if we talk about taste, it's kind of individual preference. One must taste it by him/herself.
Want to pair Chevre cheese with wine? Try pairing this semi hard-chevre cheese with Champagne, Gewurztraminer (white wine), or Sauvignon Blanc wine.
For non alcohol pairing with chevre cheese, I suggest you to use ginger ale.
Chevre cheese, just like other cheese, can be save by protecting it from air using its original wrapping or you add yourself plastic wrapping. Remove from refrigerator one hour before serving. Remember, chevre cheese is heat sensitive, so just heat it until melted when you want to use on recipe. Overheated chevre cheese can cause grainy and separated constituent.
