is it marscapone or mascarpone cheese
By Ally Wied
The word Marscapone cheese is what people may type (or say) when they are in a hurry typing mascarpone. The right spelling is Mascarpone cheese. Oh, some popular cheese websites said that mascarpone can't be classified as cheese. Whatever it is classified, people still enjoy eating marscapone-oh mascarpone.
Mascarpone cheese is the main ingredient in tiramisu. Mascarpone is white and easily spread, sold in a container cup. Sometimes it';s been used on the replacement of butter or parmesan cheese in risotto (Italian rice menu).
Mascarpone cheese is kind of expensive. So some people tend to replace it with the smooth mixture of 16 ounces cream cheese, 1/3cup sour cream and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream. Replacing mascarpone alone with cream cheese will not give enough similar taste to mascarpone, mixing it will be better.
Do you like to eat pasta? Add mascarpone to the pasta sauce to get better taste compare to the use of cream cheese. Or simply put it on a cracker to add cheesy flavor.
Just remember to eat in a moderate amount of mascarpone cheese because of its high LDL cholesterol content!
